Active June 30 day Challenge - Day 18

  • Exercise: Legs, Bums and Tums Boot-camp
  • Drink: Glass white wine
  • Food: 2 slices of toast for breakfast; leftover pizza for lunch; Pad Thai for tea
  • Snacks: Dried apricots, Sunflower seeds, some chocolate mousse
Day 18 and tonight was Legs, Bums and Tums boot-camp. This one is quickly becoming my favourite; Karen, the instructor, is knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The only time I've ever sweat as much is during Bikram, and straight after the class my legs and stomach feel like rock (probably because they're permanently clenched in agony). She threw out some stats like 'you've now done 195 squats'... meep! Definitely makes up for my less than healthy food today!

This evening I measured myself. Measurements are below:

  • Waist - 27"
  • Lower waist/hips (4" under navel) - 34"
  • Thighs - 22.5"
  • Arm - 11"
Unfortunately I didn't measure myself at the start, but judging from my clothes, I've lost some weight around my hips - basically the area between my belly button and butt (the ol' muffin top). I'm guessing around 1/2 an inch. I'd be interested to see how much weight I've lost; I suspect that I'm gaining muscle and losing fat so may not be too different.

Reading this last paragraph back I realise this all sounds a bit vain and shallow; even better would have been to do some kind of wellness and happiness quiz before and during this challenge - I suspect the results would be shocking.
