9 days to go! I'm seriously getting into this walking malarkey and in the past few days have really noticed the results.
It's not just the walking, I've been eating more and more healthily. I've noticed that the more I exercise, and read/hear about healthy living and wellbeing, the less I want to make the unhealthy choices. I'd rather have a healthy homecooked meal and a square of chocolate than a takeaway and dessert. It's annoying that one thing like a packet of crisps (which I may not even enjoy that much) could cancel out all that hard work.
Another thing that helped (weirdly) seemed to be having some time off. It was largely enforced after an OTT body conditioning class and resultant DOMS aftereffects, but it feels as though I've shrunk since - my belly is beginning to look flat-ish. I haven't stepped on the scales (man... have I learned that lesson) but I'm pretty sure that that would show me that I've lost some weight. I came across an article on the web that may explain this; yes I've cut down on exercise, but I also had a pig out BBQ at the weekend and have been drinking shed loads of water. Perhaps I've had a 'whoosh'.
